Racist Policing

There can be no clearer evidence of racism than the recent firings of three twenty-year veteran police officers in Wilmington, NC, for comments captured on their own police cameras.  Their reprehensible unprofessionalism represents an inexcusable and frightening betrayal of public trust.  But the mistake is to use such isolated incidents to paint all law enforcement officers as racist which is simply not true.  The radical Left’s calls for eliminating police won’t solve the problem of racism.  In fact, that “cure” would be far worse than the disease which is lingering racism in our society.

In 2018, there were only 2.1 police officers for every 1000 US citizens.  Police officers don’t magically come from nurseries for perfect humans.  They are the very same people we go to high school with.  So what causes a law enforcement officer to become racist?  The society in which they are raised.

The way to obtain better policing is to cultivate a better society where social ills like racism will wither away.  The absolute failure of liberal thinking is that you can achieve this by legislating from the state house or adjudicating from the courthouse.  But the truth is that lasting social change only comes from within your own house, the school house and the church house where morals are taught, learned and reinforced.  American society will continue to decline as long as it embraces the radical Left’s agenda which erodes the very morals and ethics necessary to achieve a better society and better policing.
