Governor Cooper vetos riot penalty bill

Governor Cooper on September 10th vetoed House Bill 805, titled "Prevent Rioting and Civil Disorder". House Bill 805 would have increased penalties for crimes committed during a riot. This bill was created in response to the destructive George Floyd protests that hurt many area businesses and residents.

Why Governor Cooper would not want to pass this common-sense bill that helps discourage rioting and protect law-abiding citizens should make all voters question his position.
